Urban Renewal and Street Upgrade at North Liberia Link, Accra

Following the successful completion of the Coral Colour Centre in 2012, our client, M&K Ghana Limited, invited us to propose an upgrade for their properties along North Liberia Link in Accra. The scope extended beyond property enhancements to include roadside drainage improvements and full resurfacing of the adjoining street, providing paving and even replacing vendor stalls with redesigned fabricated steel stalls. This initiative reflected both a commitment to corporate social responsibility and a desire to elevate the street’s overall aesthetic.

To keep costs efficient while showcasing M&K’s product range, we specified their primers and finishes for nearly all surfaces—roof cladding and steel stalls for street vendors, walls, wood, metal gates, and even road markings. Our approach also ensured a unified visual identity for the area.

We were appointed as both architects and project managers, responsible for stakeholder engagement, statutory approvals, coordination, and negotiations with local property owners and recognised street vendors amongst others. These efforts ensured that the needs of all users were addressed holistically.

The result was a revitalised and visually cohesive street that now proudly complements the Coral Colour Centre.
